FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why does my subscription need approval?

Every subscription is reviewed by a super admin before any payment is taken. This protects the monitoring network from abuse. If your request is not approved, you are not charged.

When am I charged?

Only after your request is approved and you complete the hosted checkout. Monitoring starts once the payment provider confirms the payment. Approved subscriptions that you do not change renew automatically at your agreed price.

Why do I need an authenticator app?

Two-factor authentication is required for all accounts. You can use any TOTP authenticator app. You also receive single-use recovery codes. Keep them somewhere safe.

How often are websites checked?

By default, availability every 10 seconds, SSL certificates every hour, and domain registration and DNS once a day. Your plan may specify different intervals.

My site shows “Up” but also “SSL invalid”. Is that right?

Yes. Availability and certificate validity are measured separately. Your server answered the HTTP request, so it is up, but browsers may warn visitors about the certificate. Fix the certificate to clear the SSL warning.

What does “Access restricted” mean?

The URL answered with HTTP 401 or 403. The server is reachable but requires a login or blocks our monitor. This is not counted as downtime.

What does “Stale” mean?

We have no recent measurement for that website, for example during maintenance of our checkers. We show this honestly instead of guessing up or down.

Why must I verify my domain?

To prevent our monitors from being pointed at websites without their owners’ consent. Add a DNS TXT record or upload a small verification file. New domains are monitored for a short grace period (72 hours) while you verify.

Can I monitor internal or private websites?

No. Only public websites on ports 80 and 443 can be monitored. Private, loopback and cloud-metadata addresses are blocked.

How do I cancel?

From Billing in your dashboard. Your service continues until the end of the paid period and does not renew. See the cancellation and refund policy.

I lost my authenticator and recovery codes.

Use the MFA help form. After confirming your identity, an administrator can send a reset link to your verified email address. Administrators can never see your password or authenticator secrets.
